5 Things That Keep Me Going on Tough Days

Hey everyone,

Welcome back to Chronicles by Chandru! Right now, I’m enjoying my semester holidays — a well-deserved break filled with good food, good vibes, and late-night movie binges. But let’s be honest, not every day feels like a break. Some days are just… tough. And that’s okay.

Over time, I’ve found a few simple things that help me push through those heavy days — things that remind me to breathe, reset, and keep going. Here are my top 5:

šŸŽ§ 1. Music – My Personal Escape

Whether it's late-night SPB classics playing in the background or Tamil melodies flowing through my earphones during a quiet evening — music has always been a consistent comfort.

It doesn’t solve the problems, but it quiets the chaos in my head. And sometimes, that’s all I really need.

A few favorites right now: Sean Roldan hits, Shakthisree Gopalan’s soulful tracks, and of course, timeless SPB magic that never fails to hit the heart.

šŸŽ¬ 2. Movies & Series – A Temporary Portal

There’s nothing like diving into someone else’s story when mine feels overwhelming.

Whether it’s a motivational movie or a feel-good sitcom, stories remind me that everyone’s fighting their own battle.

Also, I may or may not have rewatched a few favorite series this break. (Money Heist, VTV and Cult classic movies )

šŸ‹️‍♂️ 3. Workout – Move the Body, Calm the Mind

I’m not talking about hardcore gym sessions — just a simple home workout, a quick jog, or even stretching.

There’s something magical about sweating it out; it shifts my focus from overthinking to just being present.

Plus, staying active helps me keep my energy and mood in check, especially during long breaks like this one.

šŸ³ 4. Cooking – My Stress Therapy

Surprisingly, cooking has become one of my favorite “calm activities.”

Trying out new recipes (or just making Maggi with extra masala šŸ˜…) helps me focus on the now. It’s creative, it’s satisfying, and hey — the end result is food! What more do I need?

šŸ‘„ 5. Friends – My Safe Space

Some days, all it takes is one funny reel from a friend on Instagram to lift my mood.

Whether it’s a relatable meme, a random dog video, or a voice note filled with nonsense — those little things add up.

I may be sitting alone, but their presence through the screen feels real. They remind me that I’m not alone in this.

Honestly, laughter shared through reels is an underrated form of therapy. šŸ˜„

I’ve realized I don’t always need deep conversations — just knowing someone’s there makes a huge difference.

In this digital age, a quick call or message really goes a long way.

🌟 Final Thoughts

Tough days are inevitable — but they don't last forever.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that hold us together when everything feels like it’s falling apart.

So if you’re having one of those days, I hope you find your “5 things” too. ❤️

Until next time,
